Recently, I completed the Mastering Bitcoin cohort from Bitshala and finished as a top performer. I’m excited to write about what I learned from the course and why I recommend it for anyone trying to understand the technicalities of Bitcoin.
I am not new to Bitcoin; I was a participant in Summer of Bitcoin 2021 and know Bitcoin more than most people. Therefore, I might be in a good position to review the cohort.
It was an 8-week program where every week, all participants were tasked to read two chapters of the Mastering Bitcoin book. Each participant was assigned two questions (one from each chapter) that were discussed in a meeting at the end of the week.
The meetings were held on Discord. The participants were divided into groups (voice channels) and had productive discussions about our assigned questions and other related topics, helping clarify each other’s doubts. Every group was also assigned a TA who helped us further in resolving our queries and added any points we might have missed.
At the end of our group discussions, all participants moved to the lounge audio channel. There, Raj answered any unaddressed questions and proceeded to talk about more interesting topics or dive deeper into other Bitcoin-related subjects.
The knowledge possessed by all the TAs was commendable, and I can’t praise enough Raj’s way of communicating complex ideas simply. I was satisfied with all the answers I received for my queries and learned a ton of new things.
Personally, I was able to familiarize myself more deeply with concepts I only knew at a surface level. I was also able to get myself up-to-date with many recent developments. Additionally, a special shoutout goes to the other weekly clubs conducted by Bitshala that I attended alongside the cohort — Bitcoin Optech Club, Reading Club, and the PR Review Club. They covered a ton of additional information, and attending them is a must for anyone who wants to stay up-to-date with everything happening in Bitcoin.
I can assure you that anyone who is able to stick through the entire Mastering Bitcoin cohort will gain a better understanding of Bitcoin than 99% of people and will be in a good position to grab opportunities in the Bitcoin space or start something of their own.
I sincerely want to thank the entire team at Bitshala for conducting these cohorts, and at no cost! It would be an invaluable learning experience for anyone, regardless of their background or aspirations.
